Clarence  “CHAZZ”  Ross
 
This selfless spirit of charming musical prowess - commands standing ovations 
from dramatic, percussive performances!  CHAZZ combines keen empathetic listening 
with awesome technical showmanship.  He magically reads artists’ internal rhythms
to enrich their words, music and dance.  You’ll be mesmerized in his unique form of 
mnemonic, synchronized drumming that delightfully impacts audiences of all ages.

CHAZZ’s performance instruction reflects forty years of achievements in African
music & dance, Latin percussion, martial arts, stand-up comedy and acting.  He plays
amazing African and Latin instrument combos- with wondrous bursts of excitement!  
His mastery of exotic stick, hand and wind instruments includes the didgeridoo,
djembe, congos, cajongos, cajon, bongos, kalimba, udo, timbales, whistles, flutes,
temple blocks, singing-bowls, harmonica and violin.

CHAZZ performs didgeridoo drum-calls and libations, accompanies spoken
word artists,  directs workshops and produces multi-cultural ensembles with singers,
special dancers and stilt-walkers.  His dynamic, interactive Jungle Drum-Circle ©
programs involve mentoring young, disadvantaged, deaf, senior and special-needs
people in libraries, alternative schools, missions, child-care academies, juvenile
halls, probation departments and senior-citizen centers.

Aside from regularly performing at the LA Opera, Aquarium of the Pacific, Skirball
Cultural Center, Riverside Drum, Mask & Dance Festival, Juneteenth Celebration-Santa
Monica, Honor Thy Father Awards, Burbank City Council, Arizona State Fair,
San Bernardino County Fair, Forest Lawn, Survivor TV Show, Wooli-Me Expo and The NAACP Awards, CHAZZ has shared stages with Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan, Phil Perry, Ruby Dee & Ossie Davis, Malcolm Jamal-Warner, Eddie Griffin, Ray Brooks, DangerMan, Liz Lomax, Tommie Davidson, Annie McKnight, Rahshad Muhammad, George Makinto, McTate Stroman, Shafeeq, HB Barnum, Marcus Johnson, Mykal Ali, Ella Joyce,
Ellen Cooper, Richard Gant, Peggi Blu, Mekiel Rueben, Louis Gossett Jr.,
Low Riders (War) and the Oba-Oba, Brazilian Dance Troupe.

As an esoteric “music disciple,” CHAZZ salutes his formal instructors of Latin, African & World Percussion: Luis Conte, Javuzi Bojangos, Carl Lott, Jr. & Chris Brooks. CHAZZ is a DreamShaper, Skirball Docent Instructor, VIP Mentor, VAPA Certified Music Curriculum Integrator, Creative force behind Beat The Odds, UCLA Arts & Healing drum therapy program, SAG-AFTRA Fellow, Multiple Black-Belt MMA, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Brother, Ordained Minister of the Universal Life Church and an honored graduate of Boston University and UCLA Law School.  He cherishes his loving parents,
Amanda V. Logan & Clarence L. Ross, Sr. (late), was raised in Washington, DC & Silver Spring MD and resides in Lake View Terrace CA.
